Finding Sicko's

Finding Sicko's
« on: April 18, 2011, 19:30:30 »
Ok, I really really h8 people who share sick files.  Whether mislabelled or not they simply should not be in a share.   What is the best way to catch people (apart from manually checking their share) who share sick files.   A bit like zk++666 used to do with searching all users who connect and matching against an adlsearch file.

Plus,  I am crap with scripts  so any explainations will have to be written with this idiot in mind.

Thanks

Zebedee...

hey Zeb....I don't know what client your using....In apex you can search according to file type,I don't know if that would help in your case or now.....for instance in our hub we share only lossless music, such as .flac and.shn, .ape ...........so if I wanted to check and see if there are any .mp3's floating around all I do is type that in the client search box and see what I come up with.

It would be real cool if we could write something like in the hub though, such as a inform pm or something.

There is no way to do that at the moment. Solution would be to make FlexHub work like a client, checking share when users login to the hub, and kick/inform. I guess it would be nice idea but I'm afraid it would slow down the hub. And to be really honest if clients can do that then I can't see the need for it (but that will be my personal point of view). Anyway GUI has lots of client features so in theory it can be done.
Best regards,
LS

Hi  thanks for all the replies  but current client can't do it  thats the point.

I do not know lua well enough but could not a script do it....  get peoples lists as they join,  check through adlsearch and then pm user running the script bad things found

Easy for me to say... no doubt extremly hard to program :)

GUI is an interface for FlexHub :) Can work independently from the hub itself (also on another server - so you can use it to control Flex even if you not logged in to your hub, also for those tho don't like using complicated hub command settings ;) ) Not finished yet but some screens are here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/flexhubdc/

I guess that is another step forward in Flex development ;D So we wait...
