Global synchronization for friendly hubs
« on: January 04, 2010, 19:59:13 »
my first post wahoo! cheers flippyflopper...  would it be possible - if I had 2 x/+ more hubs running flex that if someone was kicked/banned or a hub mod altered/enforced in one hub that this could be synched with the other(s) instead of having to add seperately - as a trust could be enabled in each (if this was possible as an option to add hub ip's/dns) both/more hubs would have to allow each other's dns/ip obviously)) and that are options to - at a defined time daily for example. or a cmd button could be added to synch immediately..... without a wait perhaps.

That's possible, hublinking has been suggested in some other ways as well already.

Synching data like bans, regs, textcommands and such sounds like a good idea. If it gets integrated in the hubsoft the GUI can provide a good overview of the settings for what and how things will be shared/synched.

If it's made, the inter-hub communication will use the ADC protocol which leaves room for protocol extentions.

That's a damn good idea. Been wanting to do that for ages. Can we even take it one stage further?

An idea I have had for a long time is the ability to send panic messages to OP chats between hubs in a network.

Let me explain......

Hubs A, B and C are in a network. Hub A gets attacked. An OP in hub A can send a message to OP chats in A, B and C from hub A's MC (or OP chat) saying for example:-

<SECURITY MESSAGE> Hub A is under attack. All OPs please check this out and act.

or

<SECURITY MESSAGE> Hub B reboot.

I know this might seem silly but this function is very usefull for me within my complicated network structure.

StanleyTweedle™: yeah i can see the added value it can have to be able to send !netmass or !netopchat messages or something like that. As soon as interhub-communication is working i'll add at least something like !netopchat.
