it would be nice to have a command (or timer)  to backup the full hubsoft and settings and then zip them into a folder what you can set in the config

Btw - yep, it could be a useful and convenient feature.

At this point you have to make backups manually(well that the hub has a small size).
I make copies once a week on a flash card.

Btw, Ubuntu has made to its users 'UbuntuOne'(5GB of free space on the virtual cloud for each user ubuntu). So folders are synchronized with each change files on your virtual cloud.
