FlexHub now runs on a Synology NAS!
This package has been installed manually, but if there is enough interest we can create a standard Synology DSM package. So if you're the owner of a Synology NAS with an Intel x86 processor and you'd like to run the coolest Direct Connect hub on it, drop a message below!
Supported models: DS411+, DS411+ II, DS412+, DS710+, DS712+, DS1010+, DS1511+, DS1512+, DS1812+, DS2411+, DS3611xa, DS3612xs, RS810+/RS810RP+, RS812+/RS812RP+, RS2211+/RS2211RP+, RS3411xs/RS3411RPxs, RS3412xs/RS3412RPxs

Nice work :D
-
It's very interesting ... flexhub expands its borders ... cool :)
-
Nice!!! :o :o
pls package voor Synology.
-
I would like to show my support for the packaging of flexhub for synology. I can't find any other developers for the synology system and DC++
-
Is with Flexhub possible to connect with any hub ??
Mac Os x is not supported ??
And more generally, without using Flexhub or Synology nas, in dc++ is possibile select a network folder as a shared folder ??
-
FlexHub is a hub, it only connects to clients, not other hubs.
I dont have access to any Mac Os X so I can not tell if it works or not, sorry.
You should be able to select a network folder in DC++ for sharing, but it is possible you have to map it to a drive letter for it to work properly.
-
Hey,
Work adcs on the NAS version ?
Nice work FlexHub team :)
-
I pretty much created an account just to voice the support. I would absolutely love to be able to set up a Hub on my Synology NAS.
-
Same here :D
How can I install it on my RS2212RP+ NAS?
-
May be Google is ur friend :)

FlipFlop,
Would love to see a package made for the Synology NAS.
At this moment it is the only reason I need to keep my energy slurping main computer running.
Everything else has been moved to the NAS (Torrents/NZB/Sickbeard/Website).
Would you be willing to share the code for the Synology Package...or you not ready to release yet?
Thanks already for having the knowledge to program something like this...and for having the idea to make it for the NAS.
This would really be suited to run on a machine like that...
Gr. Frank

I would also like to voice my support for this. Please let me use it
-
Thanks to exleper, the package for Synology x86 NAS is finally under active development again.
A release can be expected soon(ish).
-
Fantastic, I am keen to see what this does. :D
-
Not sure I could keep this from being detected from within my work Environment!!! with multiple NAS boxes I have.. >:)

The FlexHub package will be released soon, together with a general FlexHub public update.
-
Flipflop,
Wooooooohooooooo ;-)
Really, I am in the process of writing a move to F2F from P2P, as having a machine running Ptokax is simply to much.....
And now I see this....very happy mate!!
Very happy.
Don't know how the release works...
But me will be one of first downloaders!!
Thanks!!

Not yet ready to release Flipflop?
Last minute hickups?

Not yet ready to release Flipflop?
Last minute hickups?
Not late after I wrote this, Flipflop contacted me....and same evening I had a working flexhub (yes beta, FlexHub Beta 0.2 svn: 1459 (private)) running from my NAS.
No more need to have the PC on to keep on seeding and sharing. And really, so much more more freedom to just let it run....as a hub really is a server app, which now
finally is back on a server.
Another thing I would like to mention is that I have never met such a supportive developer. Thanks FlipFlop for the help, suggestions and for guiding me along in the
first steps of using the flexhub!
So far...PERFECT!!
No Crashes, super simple setup...
The only downside I can think of is a missing admin interface, outside the one offered inside the hub....which is a bit cumbersome.
Thanks FlipFlop for letting me into the beta testing...so far, so good!

DS411J ? is that supported i see DS411+ and DS411+ II ?
-
You can check the processor type of your NAS here: http://forum.synology.com/wiki/index.php/What_kind_of_CPU_does_my_NAS_have
If your NAS has an Intel Atom or Intel Core i3 processor, then FlexHub can run on it.
DS411j Marvell Kirkwood mv6281 1.2Ghz ARM
So unfortunately FlexHub won't run on this NAS.
-
When can we expect the SPK to be available?
-
Same as for most free open source projects: when it's done ;)
Will be soon.
-
Halloo
Can see ASUSTOR are getting to be more and more popular.
Will there be added flexhub to ASUSTOR NAS :) ?
-
Looks Intel-based, if it's x86 then it should be possible to make a package for it.
Anyone using Asustor already?
-
A FlexHub for Synology NAS package has been released: http://www.flexhub.org/forum/index.php?topic=688.0
-
Is there ever likely to be a release for Marvell Kirkwood based Synology NAS? I just bought a DS213J and its not supported. doh!
-
FlipFlop™ i have a Asustor i like to test Flexhub for Asustor :)
-
I don't own an Asustor, so I can't make a package for it.
But as long as it uses an Intel x86 processor FlexHub should be able to run on it.
You could SSH into it, and install and run the normal linux version of FlexHub. The NAS firewall has to be configured to allow traffic on the port that FlexHub uses ofcourse.

Please make the Flexhub available for DSM 6.0!!!
-
A new FlexHub package for DSM 6.0 and higher is available now:
http://www.flexhub.org/forum/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=84
WARNING: Before uninstalling an existing FlexHub package, make a backup of the entire shared flexhub folder (usually on volume1) BEFORE uninstalling the package! Due to a bug in the previous uninstall script all settings and the shared folder are removed even when you choose to 'Keep files and shared folder'.
-
Thanks for being this quick in updating the package.
Updating the DSM software tonight. Will let you know of any problems if they exist.

Cool!
To the point of being annoying: make sure you backup the FlexHub settings folder before uninstalling!
-
Will do!

I get the message package is not supported by diskstation. DSM 6 Update 4, what am i doing wrong? Package center trust every pusblisher is set. DS216+ probably not supported?
-
I'm not sure if this will work, since it might be that the 216+ is entirely 64 bit and Flex runs 32 bit only, but you can try this package, I've added the Braswell processor to the supported processor types:
http://www.flexhub.org/downloads/flexhub-1469-x86-DSM6-2.spk
-
Thanks! Seems to work now, at least it lets me install the package.
-
Hello i also got the ds216+ and have the same Problem.
Cool you updated the package i will try it tommorow and Post if it works
-
Installed the package on my smartphone and. It seems the Hub is running great work thnx
-
Upgraded from Synology 1812+ to an 1815+
After the migration I discovered that flexhub was not starting.
It seems that the INTEL Atom C2538 "Rangeley" is not yet supported.
Would you be able to add this support to the package?
Best Regards, Frank
-
Try this one, I've added the 'avaton' arch which should include the Rangeley processors.
